Maintenance, Care & Repair

The workshop is able to take care of everyday maintenance of violins, violas, cellos and double basses : cleaning, greasing pegs, fitting of tensioners, strings, chin-rests, bridges, sound-posts, refixing ribs, straightening fingerboards, touching up varnish...

All these items are essential to the good-working of your instrument and to preserve it over time.

However careful you are, accidents can happen and cause damage to your instrument.

The workshop will provide you with a cost-estimate, taking into account the damage observed and the value of the instrument.

For a practice violin, a simple repair should be sufficient (restoring to good-working condition), or for instruments of higher value (financial, historical, musical or simply sentimental value), a full restoration (restoring to the original condition) may be needed.

The workshop can also work with you so you learn how to tune your instrument, in order to get the best out of it, and by adapting it closely to your needs.
