Violin-maker in Morlaix

I began my craftsman's apprenticeship with a solid 5-year training period in Italy, mainly devoted to making instruments, under the expert guidance of Renato Scrollavezza.

Then, after having worked for 2 years with Guy Tinel in Paris, in order to perfect my knowledge of assembling, tuning and restoration of old instruments, I set up my own workshop in Le Havre in 1986.

I worked there for 30 years, before moving to my present workshop in Morlaix, Finistere in Brittany, at the start of 2017.

In 2011, I had the honour to receive the award “Living Heritage Company”, a prestigious national distinction rewarding French companies possessing “excellent” knowledge in their field of activity.

For the last 30 years, my workshop has been open to all musicians, beginners or confirmed players, amateur musicians, teachers in music schools or academies of music, orchestral musicians and soloists.

My time in the workshop is divided into 2 main activities :

  • the crafting of concert instruments for a professional clientele (French or international)

  • services required by local customers : repairs, tuning, restringing, rental, purchase and sale of instruments for all levels, sales of strings and accessories, advice and valuations.
